A Reading Room Created by Northridge Christian Church

Northridge Christian Church, a long time partner with the Harrisburg neighborhood, has transformed a cluttered supply closet into a magnificent reading room. The exposed duct work became the trunks of two trees where the kids can get into their tent and read.

Cyndee Edwards, program director of the Parks and Rec Department, said that the kids work hard to finish their homework each afternoon so they can get into the reading room. Northridge Church continues to add great opportunities for the kids and families of the amazing neighborhood of Harrisburg!

A Big Thank You!

A big shout out and thank to First Baptist, First United Methodist and Northridge Christian Churches along with the Chard Wray Food Pantry for providing Blessing Bags for hungry kids each Friday. These kids receive a lunch size paper sack with single serving foods to eat over the weekend. Lots of the children in Baldwin County go hungry over the weekend and these Blessing Bags makes a big difference. We are grateful to Rotary, Kiwanis and AARP for helping out with donations each year!

Joey Mullins Passed Away This Weekend

Good afternoon. There is no easy way for me to say what I have to say. Our friend and colleague, Joey Mullins, went home to be with the Lord over the weekend.

Joey’s wife, Diane, expressed Joey’s love for Family Connection. She said we were a big part of his life, just as he was a big part of ours. She also expressed how much Joey and his entire family appreciated our support throughout his sickness.

Joey was such a beautiful person, and his determination and positive attitude throughout his fight with cancer has been nothing less than inspiring to all of us. He has contributed much to our work at GaFCP and to his counties. His legacy will be long and deep, as he touched so many lives in countless ways.
