Success Stories

Great News!  We have received money from the Bunco event hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and from Tri-County EMC.  These funds will provide some needed supplies at the Wray Homes after school program and to begin a weekend food program for students at Midway Elementary School.  Thanks so very much to these community groups!

Wray Homes After School Program

This after school initiative began last year as a collaboration with the Milledgeville Housing Authority.  We are serving 25 children from the Wray Homes neighborhood who are in the 1st through the 7th grade.  Digital Bridges has provided computers, software and volunteers for our students to learn computer skills.  This year the students from the High Achievers Program are providing mentoring, cultural and recreational activities.  Tutoring is provided by volunteers from Wray Homes, Georgia College and from retired educators.

Collins P. Lee Community Center Afterschool Program

This after school program is a collaborative effort between Baldwin County Parks and Recreation, Family Connection, Live Healthy Baldwin and Georgia College and is located in Harrisburg Park.  Currently, it is serving 25 children 4 days a week from 3:30 to 5:30.  Tutoring, physical exercise, healthy snacks and computer skills.  Many local residents and Georgia College students help provide the tutoring and leadership for the outdoor education.
